Trasylol
Trasylol / aprotinin injection pulled from worldwide market by Bayer.
Trasylol, also known as aprotinin injection, manufactured by Bayer, is a medication given before and during heart surgery to reduce bleeding and the need for blood transfusions. On November 5, 2007, under pressure from the FDA, Health Canada and other health authorities, Bayer temporarily suspended worldwide marketing and shipping of Trasylol until the results of multiple studies could be completed and analyzed.
Some reports link Trayslol with increased risk of kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke, and other serious injury.
